Gregory LaGwin Sims, Sr. , age 62, was suddenly called out of this life at approximately 7:27 p.m. on Monday,  January 17, 2022 at  Muster Community Hospital in Muster, Indiana.

He was born on December 30, 1959 to Helen Sims and Joe Manley Sr. in Lima, OH; both parents preceded him in death.

He was united in holy matrimony to Jeanette Nelson.

Gregory was a short-haul trucker for CDS Transportation and other companies in the Hammond, IN area. He was baptized February 28, 1971 as a child of God at Jerusalem Ev. Lutheran Church and attended the grade school and Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There he enjoyed playing football and basketball. He went to Waukesha County Technical Institute for college, where he continued playing basketball. He enlisted in the Army National Guard of Arkansas.

He is survived by his 2 sons, Gregory Sims Jr. of Jonesboro, Arkansas and  Sean Graham of Wynne, Arkansas; 1 daughter, Sacoiya Johnson of Claymont, Delaware. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.  7 brothers, Snowden G. Sims (Melinda) of Grove City, OH; Joe L. Manley, Jr.  and Gregory Manley (Tracy) both of Detroit, MI. Ron Manley and Maurice Manley (Tana) both of Columbus, OH and Gerald Manley (Michelle) of Lima. 4 sisters; Angela Gaines, Letitia Nigh (Scott), Gwendolen-Lane Harvey and Cheryl Gilcrease (Ronnie) all of Lima and Shondra White of Florida. A stepsister- Alisa Monique Noel of Columbus, OH. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.  with Rev. Wayne Scott of Indianapolis, Indiana, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Home.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
