Mr. Gregory Allen Petaway, age 59, passed from this life on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at approximately 4:03 p.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center.

He was born on August 9, 1958 in Lima Ohio to the union of Josephus and Lillie Mae (Hughes) Petaway, Sr.; both parents preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his companion; Regina Gilbert of Lima.  A son; Michael Gilbert and a daughter; Latosha Gilbert both of Lima. 3 grandchildren.  6 brothers; Josephus Petaway, Jr. (Mary) of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Frank Petaway of Lima.  George Reeder of Mississippi, Douglas Petaway of Minnesota, Timothy Petaway (Kim) of Indianapolis, IN and Hosea Petaway of Toledo, OH.  5 sisters; Theresa Maxineanu, Linda Sturdivant (Carry) and Brenda Bassi all of Indianapolis, IN.  Nkita Petaway of Lima and Phyllis Sandifer (Robert) of Greenwood, Miss.  Godmother; Annie Gooding of Lima; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 4 sisters; Mattie Petaway, Lillie Petaway, MarcilePetaway and Jean Reed.

Services will be held at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral home on   Friday, August 25, 2017    with Rev. Mary Petaway officiating.

Visitation/wake services will be held on   Friday at 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
