Gloria Jean "Jeannie" Bratton, age 71, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at approximately 12:10 p.m. at her residence in Lima.

She was born on August 13, 1950 in Lima, Ohio to Lucille Henry; her mother preceded her in death.

Gloria retired from the Dietary Department at Lima Memorial Health Systems.  She was currently employed at Lima City Schools as a cafeteria monitor. Gloria was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served as a church usher and worked in the kitchen department.  She was a skilled seamstress and she loved to bake.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a son; Marcellus D. Bratton (Fatima) of Galena, Ohio. 2 grandchildren; Bria Bratton and Jordan Bratton.  2 great-grandchildren; Tyler Uter and Elijah Uter.  7 sisters; Delores Menifee, Linda Houston, Michelle Remy and Wilma Kirkman (Jeff) all of Lima. Krissie (J.C.) Lias of East Chicago, IN, Sandra Holmes (Leroy) of Georgia and Martha Maclin of Gary, IN. 3 brothers; Mack Peterson, Jr. (Vickie) and Albert  Peterson both of Lima.  Michael Peterson of Atlanta, GA.   A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother; Freddie Henry.

Home Going Services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. David Kelley, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services also at the Church.
