Mr. Frederick Herman Ramsey Sr., age 86, of Lima, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 1:55 p.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Frederick was born on January 17, 1940, in Lima, Ohio, to Theodore Ramsey Sr. and Dorothy (Vaughn) Ramsey, both of whom preceded him in death.

Frederick was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent 30 years employed with Ford Motor Company before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, love for his family, and the wisdom he shared with those around him.

Frederick was also a devoted sports fan. He especially loved cheering for the Cleveland Browns and watching Ohio State Buckeyes football. Game days were something he looked forward to. Frederick adored listening to the great sounds of James Brown and B.B. King. 

Frederick leaves to cherish his wife, Frances Ramsey; his son, Frederick (Cherica) Ramsey Jr.; his daughter, Lisa Ramsey-Moore; and six grandchildren; ShyQuaya (Kaye) Ramsey, T’Rajea Ramsey, DeZharnea Ramsey, Paxton Thompson, Arniesha Ramsey and Ja’Kiya Ramsey and eight great-grandchildren; Azariah Pinn, T'Kyrien Simpson, Kamryn Simpson, Izaiah Ramsey, Ejaun Ramsey, Xavier Mojica, Mikha'el Hernandez, and Elodie Foust, as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Frederick was preceded in death by his three brothers, Theodore Ramsey Jr., Donald Ramsey, and Marshall Ramsey; one granddaughter; QuaShaun Ramsey; and one great-granddaughter; Ajhea Ramsey.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jones Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 1302 Oakland Parkway, Lima, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
