Floyd Phillips, 70, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 7:12 p.m. at Lima Health Systems.
Mr. Phillips was born in Russellville, Alabama on July 19, 1945 to the union of Willard Floyd and Mary Louise Smith Phillips. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Lima.
He was united in holy matrimony to Annie Moore Phillips on June 17, 1967, she preceded him in death on May 30, 2009.
Mr. Phillips retired from B.P. Refinery. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the USW Local 624, American Legion Post 96 and V.F.W. Post 1911 where he served in the color guard as Captain. He was also a Masonic Brother.
Besides his loving mother Mary, he leaves to cherish his precious memory a daughter; Jocelyn Ellington (Mark). A granddaughter; Aurianna G. Ellington. 2 brothers; Billy Phillips (Ida) and Clifton Phillips both of Lima. A sister: Christine Sealey of Russellville, AL. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Home going services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Cleven Jones, officiating.
