Obituary

Evangelist Missionary Clara Stella Webster, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at approximately 9:25 p.m. at her residence in Lima.

Mrs. Webster was born on November 13,  1921 in Gilbert Town, Alabama to the union of Daniel and Mattie Young Kirksey, Sr.; both parents preceded her in death.

In May of 1964 she was united in Holy matrimony to Rev. Elijah Webster, he preceded her in death March 1982.

She moved to Dayton, Ohio after her marriage to Elder Webster.  She then moved to Lima after commuting for 10 years from Dayton.  She worked with her husband and the congregation to build up Mt. Olivet Church of God In Christ on Union Street which was dedicated in 1968.  She founded and became administrator of the Mt. Olivet daycare center.  She also served as a Sunday school teacher, president of YPWW, president of women's dept, teacher of pray & bible band and a member of the trustee board at Mt. Olivet.

After the passing of her husband she traveled with Bishop Moody and the international president of the mission dept. of the COGIC.  They traveled to Haiti, England, France, Germany and Jerusalem.  Throughout all her travels she maintained her membership with Mt. Olivet.

After receiving her Evangelist Missionary License, she began conducting revivals in 5 States.  She also served as an Instructor in the National Conventions, Convocations and the National Womens Convention.

She received recognition of honor as outstanding young woman of Lima nominee presented by the Lima area Jay-C-ettes for her leadership ability.  She received a certificate of appreciation award by the COGIC for invaluable service rendered in Trinidad.  Ohio Central East Jurisdiction Bishop David Herron Prelate recognized her for many years of dedication to the dept. of Christian Education.

Mrs. Webster worked as a Purchasing Manager with the  United States Government.  She was a member of Mt. Olivet Church of God in Christ.

Evangelist Webster was a dynamic spirit and enjoyed her role in the Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving Sister:  Lucille Lilly of Alliance, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.  She was especially fond of Nephews:  Charles M. Sage and Elder John D. Holly (Alice) both of Lima. Also  Nieces:  Nancy L. Palmer (Gregory) of Detroit and Zetta Keys (Elder Kenneth) of Lima.  They were responsible for her care.  2 God Daughters:  Ruby Wagner and Darla Wagner both of Columbus, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by 3 Sisters:  Loddi Stafford, Ruth Price and Margaret Stafford. 4 Brothers:  Excell Kirksey, Robert Kirksey, Albert Kirksey and Daniel Kirksey Jr.
