Mrs. Eulia C. "Madea" Hill, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 21, 2018 at approximately 3:19 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems in Lima.
She was born on October 29, 1928 in Russell County, Alabama to the union of McKenzie and Nancy (Peterson) Hunter, Sr. ; both parents preceded her in death.
On October 26, 1958 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. James R. Hill, who preceded her in death on December 19, 2007.
Mrs. Hill worked at Mid-West Services in the Laundry Department for over 20 years. She was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member; she served on the Mother Board & Usher Board for many years. Madea was successful in becoming employed at several different establishments; Milano Club restaurant, and elevator operator in the Dominion Building, Ohio Coverall where she worked for 18 years, and finally Old Barn-Out-Back where she remained until she retired.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory 3 daughters; Joanna "Pat" Jacobs, Bobbie "Jean" Wilkerson and Maxine Dillard all of Lima, OH. 4 grandchildren; Stephanie Ziegler (Jason) of Raleigh N. Carolina, Shawndale, Seddrick Wilkerson and Darrick Dillard (Crystal) all of Lima. 8 great grandchildren; Shayauna, Zayne, Kearra, Braelyn, Elliana, Imani, Lavada and Akeyla. 3 great-great grandchildren. 3 brothers; McKenzie Hunter, Jr. and Clarence Hunter both of Merrillville, IN and Luke Hunter (Earnestine) of Rochester, NY. 4 sisters; Lucinda Irvin, and Idella Brown (Gene) all of Gary, IN, Christine Hunter and Ella B. Williams (Willie) of Merrillville, IN. A special niece; Gloria Hunter of Houston, Texas. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers; Moses Hunter and Frederick Hunter. 4 sisters; Clara Wilhight, Nancy Mickey, Essie Mae Dillard and Mary Bell Long; 2 half-sisters; Bessie Smith and Leila Strong.
Home going services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Toney, officiating.
Visitation/wake services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services at Eleventh Missionary Baptist Church.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
