Mr. Eric Lamont Smith, age 54, passed from this life on Monday, May 8, 2023. He was born on May 26, 1968 in Lima, Ohio to Edward Smith and Theresa (Shurelds) Smith. Both parents preceded him in death.

Eric was known for being a hard worker and a true family man. His work ethic and desire to take care of his family led to a 15-year career at Nichols Bakery as an Oven Operator. Eric played basketball and loved watching sports. He also enjoyed playing music and spending time with his dog. Eric was a devoted partner, loving father, hard worker and a friend to many. His presence will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Eric leaves to cherish his precious memory a loving fiancé', Carmen Rivera; a son, Erion L. (Umique) Smith of Lima, OH; 2 daughters: Courtney Smith of Columbus, OH and Ashayla Smith both of Lima, OH; a step-son, Kenneth Velazquez Rivera of Lima, OH; 3 step-daughters: Jamakah Crockett, Alondra Velazquez Rivera and Ninoshka Velazquez Rivera all of Lima, OH; a brother, Edward (Lachivana) Smith of Indianapolis, IN; a sister Tambra Smith of Indianapolis, IN; 16 grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by a son, Cameron Dansby and a daughter, Ashley L. Armstead-Smith.
