Mr. Ennis E. Rufus, age 69, passed from this life on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at approximately 11:11 p.m. at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, OH.

He was born on July 7, 1952 in Jackson, Mississippi to the union of Fred and Easter (Edwards) Rufus.  His father is deceased and his mother Easter Price survives in Kansas City, MO.

Ennis  was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Service Masters and was a skillful electrician apprentice.    Ennis was a graduate of Jim Hill High School in Jackson, Mississippi where his love for the sport of basketball shined when he played for his high school team.  Cooking was an enjoyable task for him as well as sharing his meals with friends.  He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Indians, the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers. Early in his life he was involved in his home church, College Hill Baptist Church, where he attended for a period of time.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory 5 sons; Fred Peoples (Amy), Terrez Carter both of Lima.  Jason Thomas (Frankie) of Columbus, OH.  Darius Fisher of Ft. Wayne, IN and Rozelle Sims of Florence, AL.  4 daughters; Princella Carter of Dayton, OH.  Cameron Rufus of Toledo, OH, Monique Rufus of Milwaukee, WI and Arianne Rufus of Lima.  26 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  A brother; Clifton Rufus (Janice) of Arizona and a sister; Freddie Mae Hill (Carl) of Kansas City, MO.   4 step sisters; Bertha Rufus, Vivian Baldwin (Gregory) and Stephanie Rufus all of Clarksville, TN.  Rose Davis of Wausau, WI.  2 step-brothers; Dexter Rufus of Flint, MI and Gregory Rufus of Clarksville, TN. A host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son; Joshua L. Carter and a brother; Fred Rufus.

Home going services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Kenneth Keys, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Home.

Interment:  Memorial Park Cemetery
