Mrs. Ella Ree "Dolly" Petty, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2015 at approximately 8:54 a.m. at Lost Creek Care Center in Lima.
She was born on March 30, 1923 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the union of Willie Walter and Annie Lane Fisher, Sr.; both parents preceded her in death.
On August 2, 1942 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Carl Davis Petty, Sr. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2007.
She was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Mother of the Church. She loved fishing, cooking and baking. But most of all she loved introducing people to Christ.
Mrs. Petty leaves to cherish her precious memory 6 sons; Carl D. Petty, Jr., Charles Petty (Armin), Willie Petty, Arthur Petty (Roxanne), Leroy Petty and Luther Petty all of Lima. A daughter; Augusta Thompson of Lima. A special granddaughter and caretaker; Linda K. Scott (Shannon, Sr.), 35 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. 2 brothers; Charlie Fisher of Lima and Ollie Fisher of Merced, California. 2 sisters: Roxie Johnson and Annie B. Key both of Lima. A close friend; Gloria Russell. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Ruby Jean Thompson. A grandson; Mica Petty. 3 brothers; Willie Fisher, Sr., Moses Fisher and Joe Fisher. 3 sisters; Ozella Frieson, Geneva Lowe and Lula Lowe.
