Mrs. Ella Mae Brown, age 88, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at approximately 5:00 a.m. at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio.

She was born on June 7, 1937 in Pittsview, Russell County, Alabama to Wiley and Georgia Ann (Harden) Lias, Sr. Both her parents preceded her in death.

On July 6, 1956 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Mark Brown who preceded her in death in September of 1989.

Mrs. Brown worked as a Nurse's Aide at Oak Care Center/Lima Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lima and received a certificate for completion of Nurse Aide Training. She was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church where she was awarded certificates for Bible Study. She loved to cook especially Carmal Cake,  garden, sing, taking care of people and eating at Happy Daz.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her grandchildren; Oscar Williams (Chandra), Andre Williams (Shoron), Tazarus Jones, Theresa Williams, Tameka Roddy and Deidra Jones.  3 dedicated nieces; Dr. Viola Mitchell-Clay; Leava Jones, Lucille Mitchell and a special Caretaker; Lillian Jones.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by 2 sons; Ebrana Jones, Jr. and Oscar "Boot" Jones.  A great-grandson; Nathanael Roddy, Jr. 7 brothers; Austine Lias, Hamp Lias, Ulysses Lias, Tommy Lee "Bob" Lias, Eugene Lias, Mitchell Lias and Wiley Lias.  7 sisters; Ruby Lee Walker, Elizabeth Davis, Lucille Jones, Viola Upshaw, Izola Rogers, Dorothy Jones and Velma McCendon. 2 sisters-in-law; Ruby Brown and Anna Bell.

Home Going Services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025  at 12:00 p.m. at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Bolling, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025  from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home.
