Mr. Edward Louis Patton, age78, passed from this life on Monday, March 7, 2016 at approximately 3:08 p.m. at Lima Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on July 24, 1937 in Huntsville, Alabama to the union of Raymond and Irene Vaugh Patton; both parents preceded him in death.

On July 11, 1959  he was united in holy matrimony to Rose Marie Jones, she survives in Lima.

Mr. Patton retired from General Motors Corporation in Defiance, Ohio.  He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board and was a former choir member.  He was a member of U.A.W. #211 and active with the Riverside North Neighborhood Association.

Besides his loving wife Rose Marie he leaves to cherish his precious memory a son; Steve E. Patton of Lima. A daughter; Kimberly L. Garrett of Lima.  4 grandchildren; Lamar Patton, Shaundra Garrett, Andrea Garrett and Breanna Garrett.  2 great grandchildren.  2 sisters; Nellie R. Knight and Evelyn Kirkman both of Lima.

He was preceded in death by a daughter; Cheryl Ann Patton and a sister; Carrie Grant.  His beloved dog; Queenie.

Home going services will be held at Second Baptist Church on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held at 10:00 am. until time of services also on Monday at the Church.

Interment – Woodlawn Cemetery
