Mr. Edward Lee Kimbrough, age 84, passed from this life on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born on November 3, 1941 in Lexington, Mississippi to Thomas and Sarah (Simmons) Kimbrough, Sr., both parents preceded him in death.

On November 28,  1963 he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Brenda Bonita Thomas, where they were married for 62 wonderful years.  She survives in Lima, Ohio.

Ed graduated from Lima Senior High School where he was a standout football player and received numerous Division I offers before deciding to attend Iowa State University.  Ed was an Insurance Agent and was employed by American General Insurance for 33 years and Stolly Insurance for 20 years. Ed was affectionately known as " Mr. Kimbrough THE  Insurance Man"!!

Ed loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren and loved to travel. He and his wife Brenda have traveled to every major city in the united states including Hawaii, as well as abroad to countries such as Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Jamaica & Bahamas, just to name a few.

Ed was very involved in working with the youth and coaching sports.  He mentored a lot of athletes throughout the city.  Ed was the head coach of the Sharks football team for 10 years, as well as a youth basketball and baseball coach.  He also was the assistant basketball coach for West Jr. High 8th grade team the year they won the city championship. He was on the Board of Directors for the Lima YMCA, Life Underwriters Association and the Midget Football Association.

Besides his loving wife Brenda , he leaves to cherish his precious memory a son:  Martin "Marty" W. Kimbrough of Lima, Ohio.  Five grandchildren and One  great-grandchild. One brother: Thomas Kimbrough, Jr. (Linda) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sons; Steven A. Kimbrough and Robert E. Kimbrough.  A sister; Luanna Kimbrough-Agnew.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with  Dr. B. Lamont Monford, Sr., officiating.

Visitation/wake will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at10:00 a.m. until time of services at also at the funeral home.

Interment:   Woodlawn Cemetery
