Mr. Douglas Eugene  Averett, age 62, passed from this life on Friday, January 3, 2025  at approximately 4:45 a.m. at Care Core in Lima, Ohio.

He was born on January 24, 1962 in Lima, Ohio to Willie G. Knight and Mary Louise Cole.  Both his parents preceded him in death.  He loved Jesus as Savior and Lord.   He was  Cleveland Browns fan.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 brothers; Cornell I. Cole (Sherry) and James Edward Averette.  2 sisters; Vivian A. Jackson and Vernessa M. Averett.  A special friend; Cordelia Anette Thompson.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather; Ronnie Cole and his grandmother; Lena Coffey. A brother; Darell Averett and 2 sisters; Rose Marie Averett and Delores Y. Jackson.

Home Going Services will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services also at the funeral home.
