Deacon Eric Anthony "D. J. Ghost" Jones, Sr., age 66, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at approximately 2:15 p.m. at his residence in Lima.

He was born on November 5, 1958  in Lima, Ohio to Zebra Louise Baty.  His mother preceded him in death.

On April 25, 1992 he was united in holy matrimony to      Cheryl  A. "Cheri" Jones, she survives in Lima.

Deacon  Jones retired as a Truck Driver from Fed X Freight.  He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where he was an Ordained Deacon and he was also Head of the Media and Sound Ministry. He loved to fish and hunt was a Disc Jockey called "D. J. Ghost".

Besides his loving wife Cheri, he leaves to cherish his      precious memory two children. A daughter; Vonzett Smith (Cheryl) of Starkville, MS and Eric A. Jones, Jr. (Becky)  of Lima, OH. 10 grandchildren. 3 brothers; David Phillips (Calentie) of Memphis, TN., Philander "Bo" Harper (Anita) of Lima and Tim (TJ) Harper of Jacksonville, FL.  A mother of the Heart; Mary J. Williamson.  A special Fur Companion "Duke" who he loved very much.  A host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by a father of the Heart; Rufus J. Williamson.  A sister; Theresa Jones and a brother; Marvin Jones.

Home Going Services will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor David Kelly, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. until time of services also at the church.

Interment:  Woodlawn Cemetery
