Obituary

Mr. Coburn Arthur "Pete" Carlisle, age 70, passed from this life on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at approximately 7:20 p.m. at his residence in Lima.

He was born on January 27, 1947 in Sheffield, Alabama Charles and Harriett (Deloney) Carlisle.  His father is deceased and his mother Harriett Cook survives in Lima.

On August 9, 1984 he was united in holy matrimony to Regina P. Taylor Carlisle who survives in Lima.

Mr. Carlisle retired as a teacher from the Lima City Schools.  He received his Bachelor Degree from Kentucky State University and a Masters from Federal City College in Washington, DC.

He was a substitute with Allen County Educational Services. He had 30 years of being an educational professional.  He taught and was the director his last 2 years working with the Adult Education Department of Lima City schools. Mr. Carlisle presently worked at Champaign Residential Services as a house manager, he also worked at Five Star Event Planners.

He was a former member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the usher ministry and building committee. He was presently a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the usher ministry.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory a son; Samjulian Taylor Carlisle of Lima.  A stepson; Eric L. Chambers of Washington, DC.  2 daughters; Kelly R. Floyd (James) of Marion, Ohio and Cobie D. Carlisle of Lima.  6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  2 brothers; Charles C. Carlisle of Las Vegas, NV and Zachary Carlisle of Lima. 2 step brothers; David Cook of Lima and Michael Cook of Atlanta, GA.  A sister; Harriett C. Rice of Sterling Heights, MI and a stepsister: Debra Tibbs of Lima.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He leaves behind a group of SPECIAL FRIENDS.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Julia R. Carlisle Washington and Martha F. Dunn and a brother; Willie C. Jackson.

Home going services will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Kelly, officiating.

Visitation/wake services will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday, November 10, 2017 also at the Church.
