Cloratine Lavonne Alexander, age 67 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2023 surrounded by family at St. Rita's Medical Center.  She was born on January 2, 1956 in Detroit, MI to the union of Channie and Pauline (Upshaw) Alexander.  Both parents preceded her in death.

Cloratine knew and loved the Lord.  She had accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in 1990 in Newark, NJ.  She attended Lima Senior High School and received certificates from Northwest Business College.  She worked for the Federal Building where she performed background checks for the FBI.  She was well known and loved by many people because she had never met a stranger.  She was extremely compassionate, caring and would give you the shirt off of her back and feed you, not expecting anything in return.  She enjoyed shopping, cooking and playing the lottery.  Cloratine had the memory of an elephant, she remembered every special occasion, birthday, anniversary etc.  She was a class all by herself with a sense of humor that could "make a dog laugh."  As she would often say.

Cloratine leaves to cherish her precious memories a son, Erick (Latrisha) Alexander, a life-long partner of 47 years Samuel Williams, Sr. both of Lima, Ohio.  2 sisters Catherine Alexander-Ponder of Clearwater, FL and Carolyn Alexander of Dayton, Ohio.  3 grandchildren Chloe' Laws of Lima, Ohio, Cache' Alexander of Vacaville, CA and Monteil Alexander of Lima, Ohio.  1 great-grandson Isaiah Alexander of Lima, Ohio.  A special Nephew Chawndale "Redneck" Alexander of Columbus, GA.  A special niece Anastasia "Mookaduke" Alexander-Crockett of Dayton, Ohio.  2 special friends Cathy M. Wright and Carolyn Faye Wilkerson both of Lima, Ohio.  A host of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by a brother Grover Pugh and a step-son Samuel "Sam Sam" Williams, Jr.

Home Going Services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Julius Laws officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services also at Jones-Clark Funeral Home.

Interment - Woodlawn Cemetery
