Clifton Eugene Phillips “Mookie”, age 73, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at CareCore in Lima, Ohio.

Clifton was born on October 26, 1952, in Lima, Ohio, to Willard Floyd Phillips and Mary Louise Smith Phillips, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a proud graduate of Lima Senior High School.

Clifton dedicated 25 years of service to the Ford Motor Company, where he worked faithfully until his retirement in 1999.

Clifton found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved listening to music and watching television, especially westerns. He also had a special connection to the local music scene and had the opportunity to accompany the late Roger Troutman as security when Roger came to perform in Lima, Ohio.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Christina “Midget” Sealey of Russellville, Alabama; close cousins, Jackie Robinson, Ivy Allen (Bill), and Terri Tisdale (Charles), all of Lima, Ohio; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Clifton was preceded in death by his two brothers, Floyd Phillips and Billy Phillips.

Clifton's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio, viewing from 10:00a.m. until the time of service with Pastor Cleven Jones officiating.

Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery
