Cheral LaTerice Russell-Beard, 56, passed peacefully from this life into eternity on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 8:03 p.m. at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

Born on May 22, 1969, Cheral was the beloved daughter of Floyd Russell of Lima, Ohio, and Clara Mae (Brown) Russell, who preceded her in death. Cheral’s life was rooted in love for her family and a deep devotion to those she held close.

Cheral worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant before dedicating herself fully to her home and loved ones as a homemaker. Caring for others was not simply her profession—it was her nature. She found joy in drawing and writing, that allowed her creative mind to flourish and bring beauty into the world around her. She also loved cooking for family and friends, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her meals. Whether playing cards or dominoes, Cheral cherished simple moments spent together, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Cheral was united in marriage to Tremain Beard, who preceded her in death. Though she endured the grief of losing her husband, her mother, and her beloved grandparents—Clifton and Ressie Russell, and Archie and Sadie Brown—she remained a source of strength and love for her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory one devoted daughter, K’Lis Russell of Lima, Ohio; one brother, Johnny Coopwood of Texas; three sisters, Iyisha Russell (whom Cheral lovingly raised as her own), Chyisha Russell, both of Lima, Ohio, and Precious Russell of Youngstown, Ohio; and two treasured grandchildren, Tremain Russell and Reign Villatoro, both of Lima, Ohio. She also leaves behind her longtime partner, Maurice Pettigrew of Lima, Ohio, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cheral will be remembered for her fierce spirit, her creativity, her nurturing heart, and the unwavering love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the love she planted in every heart around her.

A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Jones Clark Funeral Home Chapel.
