Obituary

Obituary for Charles Ray Rodgers, Sr.

Charles Ray "T90" Rodgers, age 74, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Villa Springfield Nursing Home in Springfield, OH.

He was born on September 8, 1949, in Kosciusko, MS to Lucille (Thurmond) Brown who proceeded him in death.  On September 8, 1989, he married Teresa Gibson who resides in Springfield, OH.

T90 accepted Jesus as his Lord and personal Savior.  He was a good man to everyone.  He loved helping others and would give you the shirt off his back.  He enjoyed fishing and eating pot pies from Lee's Famous Recipe. T90 also loved listening to the blues, especially Bobby "Blue" Bland.  No matter what he was through, T90 always had a smile on his face (he would laugh at anything).  You felt safe in his presence.  He loved singing the songs, "God is Good to Me" and "You Don't Know Like I Know What the Lord Has Done For Me" at church and family gatherings.  After many years of labor, he retired from Sylvania in Ottawa, OH.  T90 you were loved so much, and your FREE SPIRIT will be missed by many.

Besides his loving wife Teresa, he leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons:  Charles Ray Rodgers, Jr. and Ethered Lee (Andria) Rodgers, both of Lima, OH.  2 daughters:  Traci Lyn Rodgers of Allen Park MI and Patricia Lynn Rodgers of Columbus, GA.  2 brothers:  Allen (Linda) Rogers of Lexington, MS and John L. (Yvonne) Brown of Lima, OH.  4 sisters:  Pastor Minnie (Keith) Yowpp of Toledo, OH; Rosie (Pastor Alexander) Reedy of Lima, OH; Patricia (Rev. Manuel) James of Durant, MS; and Evangelist Marilyn Williams of Murfreesboro, TN.  5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Charles (T90) was preceded in death by his stepfather, Hohn Brown, Jr. 3 brothers: Russell Rodgers, Curtis Rodgers, and Ezill Brown.  Grandparents:  Kelly and Minnie Lee (Washington) Thurmond.  Nieces: Linda Lavonne Rodgers and LaTisha Quatet Sims.  Great niece:  Rosa Shondalette Sims.  Nephew: John "PeeWee" Austin.
