Mr. Charles Banks, Jr. , age 77, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at approximately 10:35 a.m. at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home in Lima.

He was born on October 5, 1938 in Paulding County, Ohio to the union of Charles and Mary Iola Phillips Banks, Sr.; both parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Banks retired from General Motors Corporation in Mansfield, Ohio, he was a member of U.A.W. Local 211.  He loved music and was especially fond of James Brown.

Besides his nephew, caregiver and guardian Dennis Penager of Ft.Wayne, IN.  He is also survived by 2 sons; Charles Banks, lll. of Marion, Ohio and Brandon Banks of Mansfield, Ohio.  1 daughter; Toionda M. Banks of Lima and 1 step-daughter; Santana Matthews of Mansfield, Ohio. His partner of many years; Pamela Matthews of Mansfield.  3 grandchildren  and 2 great-great grandchildren.  Nephew;  Brett Penager of Chicago, IL.  A niece; Maria Penager-Davidson (Darryl) of Milwaukee, Wis.  2 great nieces and 1 great nephew.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Carolyn M. Banks Penager and a brother-in-law; Charles Penager.

Home going services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the  Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Merle Stewart, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. also at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.

Interment – Middle creek Cemetery in Paulding, Ohio.
