Obituary of Carline White

Mrs. Carline White, age 89, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at St. Rita's Hospital.  She was born in Pickens, Mississippi on November 16, 1933 to Charles and Asalee (Redmond) Malone.  Both parents preceded her in death.

She married the love of her life, James White, Jr. on July 2, 1953.  The two were married for 65 years.  He preceded her in death.

Mrs. White was an Assistant Teacher at South Junior High School and Whittier Elementary School in Lima, Ohio.  She was a member of the National Council of Negro Women, Ministers Wives Association, Eastern Star Cyrene Chapter #31, League of Women Voters, and the N.A.A.C.P.  Mrs. White was a faithful member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church for over 57 years where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the Senior Choir.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, 3 sons: Robert J. (Clarissa) White; Cleaster T. White; and Rev. Lorenzo (Erica) White, all of Lima, OH.  2 daughters: Darlene Cook and Patricia A. White of Lima, OH;  2 in-laws:  Quincella Malone of Milwaukee WI and Earline Malone of Pickens, MS.  17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by 1 son: William E. White; 1 daughter: Martha J. White; 3 brothers: Hercules Malone, Verbie Malone, and Redmond C. Malone; and 4 sisters: Charline Lampley, Mary Reed, Josephine Patterson, and Elizabeth Johnson.

Home Going Services will be held on Friday, September 8 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Nathan Madison Officiating and Rev. Lorenzo White, Eulogy.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. also at the church.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
