Brown Arthur Chambers III, age 79, a proud veteran of the Marine Corps, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 23. 2024 at Mercy Health. He was born June 30, 1945, in Lima, Ohio to Brown Chambers Jr. and Inez (Nell) Daniel Chambers.
At the age of 18, Arthur enlisted in the Marine Corps. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of Corporal. He was assigned to Lima Company 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Squad, 3rd Firing Leader. He received the following service medals the Purple Heart, Marine Corps Good Conduct bronze star, National Defense Service, Armed Forces Expeditionary, Vietnam service ribbon with bronze star, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal. He returned home with a bullet in his left ankle.
Arthur also worked at the Lima tank plant until the loss of his left thumb.
He leaves to cherish his memory his special love and former-wife Ms. Paulette Chambers; eight children Katrice (Richard) Lee of Columbus, O.H., Paul (Jackie) Chambers of Sidney, O.H., Carlos (Gwen) Chambers of Lima, O.H., Jewelettia McCoy and Michael Chambers both of Troy, O.H., Keiona (Justin) Dysart of Lima, O.H., Amanda (Davarus) Callahan and Richard (RJ) Craig of Lima, O.H.; three brothers Cullen Chambers of Los Angeles, C.A., David (Sharon) Chambers of Jacksonville, F.L., Gregory Chambers of Cathedral City, C.A., five sisters Mary (Bobby) Monford and Carol Florence and sister in law Sharon Chambers of Lima, O.H., Jamesy (Derrick) Renfro of Jacksonville, F.L., and Jollon (Anthony) Duncan of Schertz, Tx. Ex-wife Tina Chambers, Caring niece Tracy Thompson; 21 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. And tons of nieces and nephews that loved him
Arthur was preceded in death by one infant son Kevin Chambers, his parents; two sisters Emma Chambers Dickey, and Cheryl Chambers Allen; and two brothers Norman Chambers and infant Doc Chambers.
Home Going Services will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home with Jewelettia McCoy Officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, also at the Funeral Home.
Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery
