Bessie Mae Howell, age 78, of Lima Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 8:14 A.M. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. She was born in Grenada, Mississippi on November 18, 1943 to Dewey and Sarah (Harris) Ely. Both parents preceded her in death.

Bessie loved canning, cooking and going out to eat with family friends. She also loved traveling, shopping and dressing in her best dress for church. She was a faithful member of New Life Christian Ministries.

Bessie leaves behind to cherish her precious memory 2 daughters, Monica Howell of Taylor, MI and Tamika Howell of Warren, MI; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Olice (Donna) Ely of Detroit, MI; 1 sister, Elma Sykes of Grenada, MS; A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her former husband, James Howell; her only son, Mark Howell; sister, Mary Ely; 6 brothers, William Ely, Dewey (Buddy) Ely, Charles Ely, Jimmie Ely, James Ely and Walter Ely.
