IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bernita J.
Williams
August 23, 1947 – November 14, 2025
Ms. Bernita J. Williams was born on August 23rd, 1947 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the parents of Bernice (King) Colbert and Joe King. Both parents preceded her in death.
Realizing the need for Christ, she surrendered her life and confessed the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age and joined the St. Paul Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
After moving to Lima, Bernita became a member of the 11th Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Pastor's Aide Ministry. Even after her health began to affect her attendance she still supported the Pastor's Aid Ministry in any way she could and enjoyed talks and visits with her Pastor Rev. James Bolling.
She was employed at General Motors in Defiance, Ohio and was a member of the Local 211. After 25 years of service she retired from General Motors and joined the retirement club in Lima, Ohio.
Bernita loved to travel and was able to see multiple places around the world on her many trips and cruises with her friends.
Bernita was never blessed with children, but she loved her nieces, nephews and godchildren fiercely and was known to spoil them all whenever she had the opportunity.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory 4 brothers, Karl Colbert of Lima Ohio; James Edward (Phyllis) Colbert of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Ronald (Bonita) Colbert and Zackory Colbert of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She had special family members in her life that touched her heart deeply. They are nieces and nephews: Tiffany (Shawn) Russell of Lima, Ohio; Raienne Hoggs of Indianapolis, IN; Shawn (Diamond) Russell and NaShayla Russell of Lima, Ohio; Amari Russell of New Albany, Ohio; and Kim (Jerome) Terry of Atlanta, GA.
