Arvid Lucious Bennett, age 57, passed from this life on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at approximately 6:02 P.M.  at St. Rita's Medical Center.

He was born on July 31, 1956 in Lima Ohio to Lucious Upshaw, Sr. and Mary Bennett Anderson. Both his parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Bennett was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.  He loved to fish and play cards.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory a daughter:  Rotisha B. Smith of Northport, AL.  2 stepdaughters:  LaShawnda Williams (James) and LaTasha Durr (John) both of Lima, Ohio.  2 grandchildren: DayQuan Smith and Mariah Patton, 3 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.  5 brothers:  Herbert Anderson of Waco, Texas, Forest Anderson (Betty), Glenn Bennett (Sheryl), Clarence Upshaw, William Fred Anderson all of Lima.  5 sisters:  Anita Ester, Mariah Upshaw, Ethel Moore, Betty J. Upshaw all of Lima and Mellissa Rose of St. Louis, MO.  A special friend:  Glenda Hill of Lima.  A host of nieces, nephews, others relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother:  Lucious Upshaw, Jr.

Services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Kelley, officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Thursday, February 13,  2014 at Jones-Clark Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
