Lula Jackson

Mrs. Lula Jackson, age  91, passed from this life on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at approximately 9:22 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems.

She was born on May 9, 1927  in Seale, Alabama to the union of Roger and Anna (Shelton) Traver; both parents preceded her in death.

She was united in holy matrimony on December 24, 1944 to Jimmie Jackson, Jr. who preceded her in death on November 13, 2002.

Mrs. Jackson was a Homemaker and a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member since 1962.  She served as president of the Usher Board for 29 years and also served on the Mother’s Board and Kitchen Committee.  She served 18 years on the Board of Elections for Allen County Democratic Party and was a member of the N.A.A.C.P.

She  leaves to cherish her precious memory 2 sons; Eugene Jackson (Henry Alice) of Lima and Rev. James C. Jackson (Beverly) of Eufaula, AL.  A daughter; Julia Mae Jackson of Findlay, Ohio.   9 grandchildren; Monique (James) Williams, Renae Jackson, Lydell (Ashley) Jackson, Kakendra Jackson, Lisa May, Annie Mays, Shawn Smith, Tara Smith and Rev. Christopher Brown.   8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.   A brother; Samuel Tarver (Jean) of District Heights, Maryland.   2 special daughters; Louise Jackson and Kathryn Jackson.  A very devoted cousin; Mrs. Mattie Daniels.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death A granddaughter; Lajoy Kenya Jackson.   4 brothers;  Bob Tarver, Eugene Tarver, Roosevelt (Teresa) Tarver and Rev. Solomon (Annie Pearl) Tarver.

Home Going Services will be held Monday, October 15, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Curtis, Jr., officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on  Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 p.m. also at the Church.
