Joseph Meeks, III Obituary

Joseph Eugene Clinton Meeks III was born on June 17, 1988 in Lima, Ohio to Joseph Eugene Clinton Meeks II and Margie Louise Pritchett. He was known to family as “Boss” and to others as “Red”.  As a young child, he moved with his family to Cleveland, Ohio for a number of years then returned to Lima, Ohio.  In 2004 he moved back to the Macedonia, Ohio area to be with his Aunt Darlene Pritchett-Pitts and Uncle Jimmie Neal Pitts.

Joseph and his fiancée Marquita Jackson began dating July 2012 and later they were blessed with 2 beautiful children; daughter Laila Lenise Meeks and son, Joseph Eugene Clinton Meeks IV.  Joseph received Christ at an early age and was a member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

Joseph was trained in Construction and Carpentry. He enjoyed weight training and was an excellent auto mechanic.  In his spare time, he would work out or work on car engines.  He was a very intelligent young man and could take anything apart and put back together without a blueprint.  He was a loving father to his two children.  He loved his family very much and was always known as a protector.  He was a tough young man; a force to be reckoned with but a GENTLE soul.  He had a big smile that lit up the world.  Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, Tavares Meeks; paternal grandparents, Lena H. Meeks and Joseph Eugene Clinton Meeks Sr.; maternal grandfather, Eddie Louise Pritchett Sr. and step grandfather, George M.C. McLaurine.

Joseph departed this life on November 2, 2019.  He leaves to cherish his precious memory a fiancée, Marquita Jackson; a son, Joseph Eugene Clinton Meeks IV and a daughter, Laila Lenise Meeks all of Cleveland, OH.  Three brothers; Marquez Ravon Pritchett (Monique) of Moreno Valley, CA, Tony Lee Dervontia Ackles and Lamar Meeks both of Lima, Ohio. A sister, Candena Meeks and maternal grandmother, Helen McLaurine; a godbrother, LeRoy Page; godsister, Tawanna Thomas-Strong and best friend, Corbin Haithcox all of Lima, Ohio.  A special cousin whom he grew up and resided with, Ryan Pitts of Macedonia, Ohio; along with an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
