Joseph Louis Manley, Sr.

Mr. Joseph Louis Manley, Sr., age 82, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at approximately 8:55 a.m. at his residence in Lima.

He was born on April 5, 1936 in Hurtsboro, Alabama to the union of Thomas J. and Willie Mae (Cooper) Manley, Sr.; both parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Manley was self-employed.  He was a member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory 6 sons; Joe L. Manley, Jr. and Gregory Manley (Tracy) both of Detroit, MI.  Greg Sims (Doris) of Hammond, IN.  Ron Manley and Maurice Manley (Tana) both of Columbus, OH and Gerald Manley (Michelle) of Lima.  3 daughters;  Angela Gaines and Letitia Nigh (Scott) both of Lima and  Shondra White of Florida. A stepdaughter; Alisa Monique Noel of Lima.   21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  6 brothers;  Lindsay Manley, Ulice Manley, Depree A. Manley (Linda), Rev. C. M. Manley, Robert Manley, Sr. (Marva) all of Lima.  George Manley of Atlanta, GA.  4 sisters; Bertha Smith, Ruby Brown, Celestine Owens all of Lima and Ernestine James of Hurtsboro, AL.    A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son; Shawn Manley.  7 brothers; Aaron Manley, Theodis Manley, Rozelle Manley, Thomas  J. Manley, Jr., Willie Mack Manley, Calvin J. Goode and Johnny Manley .

Home Going Services will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018  at 11:00 a.m. at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. C. M. Manley, officiating.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018  at 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00  a.m. also at the Church.

Interment:  Woodlawn Cemetery
