Mr. Errol Melbourne Remy, age 86, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at approximately 4:25 p.m. at his residence in Lima.
He was born on April 11, 1933 in Trinidad, West Indies to the union of George and Olive (Padmore) Remy; both parents preceded him in death.
On April 11, 1964 he was united in holy matrimony to Cynthia Davis also from Trinidad, West Indies who now survives in Lima.
Mr. Remy retired as a Welder/Pipe fitter for Local 776. He was a member of Living Word Fellowship. Mr. Remy was the founder & president for 26 years of the Caribbean American Festival which brought Steel Drums, Beating Iron, Dance and Limbo to the community. A Caribbean flavor of food, music and dance. He was a member of the band Stedic and the Groove, he also distributed food to many families in all types of weather accompanied by his dogs Trini and Bago.
Besides his loving wife Cynthia, he leaves to cherish his precious memory 2 sons; Trevor C. Remy (Michelle) of Lima and Sheldon Smith of Ft. Wayne, IN. 2 daughters; Glynis I. Henderson (Shane) of Lima. Everis C. Mollon of Katy, TX. 22 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. 2 brothers; Mervin Remy of Trinidad, West Indies and Joel Remy (Estelle) St. Croix, Virgin Island. A sister; Elina Wickham (Edward) of St. Croix, Virgin Island. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren.
Home Going Services will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Philippian Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Henderson, officiating.
Visitation/Wake will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Jones-Clark Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
