Mr. Andrew “Snoo Boo” Dillard, III, age 80, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at approximately 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood, Mississippi.
Mr. Dillard was born on January 31, 1938 in East Chicago, Indiana to the union of Andrew and Lula B. (Scott) Dillard, Jr.; both parents preceded him in death.
He was united in holy matrimony in 1995 to Betty Granderson; she survives in Greenwood, Mississippi.
Mr. Dillard retired as a Service Mechanic. He loved to talk about the Lord and sang in several Gospel groups in Lima and Greenwood.
Besides his loving wife Betty Dillard he leaves to cherish his precious memory 3 sons; Michael Dillard of Gary, Indiana. James E. Dillard, Sr. (Anita) of Lima. Dion Hurley, Sr. of California. 3 daughters; Gloria Hunter of Texas. Doria Clemmons of Lima and Sabrina English of Toledo, OH. 31 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren. 5 step-sons; Larry Peterson, Sr., Gary Peterson, Sr., Darrin Peterson, Andrew Powell and Antonio Powell. 4 step-daughters; Evelyn “Von” Marks, Janet Peterson, LaShaundra Powell and Latasha Powell. 4 brothers; Larry Dillard (Ola) of Englewood, California. Wardell Dillard of St. Thomas, Virgin Island. Danny Dillard of Las Vegas, NV and Ivan Dillard of Arlington, TX. 7 sisters; Willie Bell Walter of Gary, IN. Ella B. Farmer (Jimmie) of Lima. Geraldine Ivery (Major), Glenda Mercer, Jermaine Dillard and Shawn Lynn Thomas all of East Chicago, IL. Bernita Gordon of Atlanta, GA. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son; Johnnie Dillard. A daughter; Almada Tarver and a grandson, Kenyon Tarver.
Services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Toney, officiating.
Visitation/Wake will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery
