Alice Gwendoline Gatewood

Mrs. Alice Gwendoline Gatewood, age  86, passed from this life on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at approximately 12:01 p.m.  at her residence in Lima.

She was born on April 25, 1932 in Lima, Ohio  to the union of Eldridge Scott and Fannie (Ward) Fields; both parents preceded her in death.

She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. John Gatewood who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gatewood retired from South High School as an Attendance Clerk.   She was a member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory 3 sons; Reginald Manley of Lima. Bryon Manley of Lima, OH and Stacey S. Manley (Sereda) of Ft. Wayne, IN.  2 daughters; Desiree Fields of Dayton, OH and Rozalia Luckett (Emmanuel) of Lima.  15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  2 brothers; Joseph L. Fields and Floyd E. Fields both of Lima.  3 sisters; Betty J. Smith of Kansas City, MO.  Loretta J. Mobley of Detroit, MI.  Patricia A. Musgrove  and Donna M. Fields both of Lima.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son; Turaee Manley.  4 brothers; John E. Fields, William Fields, Howard E. Fields and Albert H. Fields.  2 sisters; Ruth M. Penager and Barbara L. Bennett.

Home going services will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 12:00 p.m.  at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church with  Rev. Nathan Madison, officiating and Rev. Earnest  Stephens, Jr., eulogizing.

Visitation/Wake will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.

Interment:  Woodlawn Cemetery
