Mrs. Nancy Pearl Brown, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on      Saturday, September 3, 2016 at approximately 9:01 p.m. at Baton Rouge Health Care Center in Lima.

She was born on March 4, 1932 in Florence, Alabama to the union of Jerry and  Eliza (Brown) Southern, Sr.; both parents preceded her in death.

On July 11, 1964 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Admiral D. Brown, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 8, 1989.

Mrs. Brown retired from General Motors after many years of service. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers’ Board and as past president of the Usher Board. She was a member of the Southside Neighborhood Association where she served as treasurer.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a daughter; Sarah Smith (Willie) of Caledonia, IL.  3 grandchildren;  Sheila R. Cage (Robert) of Lima.  Scott K. Smith (Amy) of Hilliard, OH and Kasey N. Smith of Atlanta, GA.   3 great-grandchildren; Taddrick Glenn, Madison Smith and Alexander Smith. and 4 great-great grandchildren.  A sister; Sarah F. Southern of Lima.  A special caregiver; Gwenda Avery.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by 5 sisters;  Christine Hall, Mary Lovelace, Julia B. Harris, Eliza Avery and Ruth Burch.  3 brothers; Hunter Carroll, Delmus Southern and Jerry Southern, Jr.
