Ms. Elsie Phillips, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at approximately 8:22 a.m. at Northeast Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born on September 6, 1925 in Macon, Georgia to William Phillips and Willie Belle Sharpe; both parents preceded her in death.

Ms. Phillips was schooled in Macon, Georgia.  She loved old movies, playing ball and cards with her grandchildren.  She moved to Lima in 2000 to live with her daughter. She was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church.  Ms. Phillips was a Homemaker who was truly loved and will be missed by her family.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory 2 daughters;  Glenda Barber of Lima, OH and Mary Mason of Macon, GA.  8 grandchildren that she helped to raise.  Kelvin (D’Nitris) Phillips, Gregory (Michelle) Phillips both of San Antonio, TX.  Angelia (Marty) Young of Atlanta, GA.  Larry (Rosa) Howard of Lima. Victoria Williams and Melissia Phillips both of Macon, GA.  Jamal Phillips and Tamenka Phillips. 26 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; Virginia Howard, 2 sons; Kenneth Phillips and Rufus Phillips.  A granddaughter; Altorvise Phillips, a brother; William Sharp.  4 sisters; Lillian Pharms, Louise Brown, Mary Mosely and Brooksie Moss.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist  with Rev. Robert Toney, officiating.

Visitation/wake services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
